Melinda Rose Hathaway is AuroraMUD's Patron Saint. We first learned of Melinda when she was 14 years old and battling a rare form of cancer. Her website brought both laughter and tears to all of us as we read what she had to say and learned about Cancer Kids and the impact that the catastrophic illness of a child can have on the child, their family, their community, and the world.

Melinda lost her battle against cancer when she was 15. But perhaps 'lost' is the wrong word to use here, because she was valiant, she was brave, she was vibrant, and she created a website before she left this world which has touched millions of lives since it was first launched. Melinda lives on in the memories of those who knew her, as well as the hearts and minds of millions of people around the globe.
