Policy

AuroraMUD policy boils down to just a few things:

Be nice to folks
If you have a complaint, take it to a +God or +Wiz.
Treat other players and the MUD with the same respect you want
AuroraMUD is not a democracy and it is its own mud, not a substitute or lesser version of some other mud. If you don't like our way of doing things because it isnt how they do it on another mud, we are sorry, but them's the breaks. The decisions of the +Gods are final.

Here are some other points to take note of:

Advertising
Advertising of other MUDs in Public Areas on Aurora is generally frowned upon. If you are running a MUD or MOO or MUSH or MUCK, we can't stop you from telling your Aurora friends about it privately, but we definitely consider it highly rude to hang out on the green or in any other public place and tell everybody to go there, and we will only warn you once about doing so. We consider it tacky in the extreme to spend our bandwidth and server resources to advertise a place that we are not affiliated with.

Our basic feeling is that we built Aurora from the ground up, and we found our own unique player base without ravishing other MUDs to do so, and we prefer that people extend that courtesy to Aurora when they are starting a MUD.

Combat
TinyMUDs are not combat oriented. One or two quests on the mud may include something that resembles combat after a fashion, but there is no player killing, no monster killing, no advancing in status based on how many things you can kill how quickly.

Puns
Be it herewith known that puns are ebil, and those who MAKE puns are ebil incarnate, and they will be avoided by all SANE people on Aurora!

Ticklish
Everybody on a MUD is ticklish, regardless of whether they are or not IRL. It's a rule.
