Jenn hits the on switch on the tape deck and demands silence.
Jenn says "Okay, welcome to the Spamless Person Class."
Jenn says "This class is titled:"

Canned Spam or a BackPack: Which is better, why, and how to avoid being yucky pink pseudo-meat

Jenn fiddles around in her backpack looking for her brain.
Jenn says "The reason for having a backpack is to keep from offending the eyes and bandwidth of every person who looks at you. Now, let's learn to build one."
Jenn says "The first step is to create a backpack/purse/duffel bag/briefcase/coffee can/whatever is to create the object."

Jenn types --> @create Filing Cabinet

Jenn says "now we need to make the object sticky and copy. the reason for this is so that we dont LOSE it every time we go home."

Jenn types --> @set filing cabinet=s,c

Jenn says "okay, step 3 in creating our backpack object,"
Jenn says "Lets assume we have a beloved object in our inventory. Its called Fubar. The problem is, its spamming up our inventory!"
Jenn says "So, we have a backpack, and we have our fubar. We want to have easy access to our fubar, but we dont want it spamming our inventory, because we are all nice kids who play well with others. To remedy the situation, we need a way to get this fubar from our backpacks. Enter actions." "

Jenn says "We need to create an action on our backpack object that will add the fubar to us on demand. This is done with the following command:"

Jenn types --> @action get fubar;gf=filing cabinet

Jenn says "Don't forget, when you do this, "Filing Cabinet" is to be replaced with your backpack object's name. Now we have a few more steps:"
Jenn says "first the @succ."

Jenn types --> @succ get fubar=You get fubarred!

Jenn says "next, the @osucc:"

Jenn types --> @osucc get fubar=gets completely and utterly falling down fubarred!

Jenn says "and finally, an @eff to add the fubar to your inventory"

Jenn types --> @eff get fubar=add fubar

Jenn says "Now we can drop the nasty yucky fubar that is spamming our inventory, and no matter where the fubar is after we drop it, we can get it by typing 'get fubar' (as long as we are holding the backpack object)"
Jenn says "one final step in creating our backpack, because we don't want everyone to be able to grab it from us:"

Jenn types --> @lock filing cabinet=me

Jenn says "and of course, since we are good builders:"

Jenn types --> @desc filing cabinet=It's jampacked with tons of stuff Jenn has picked up and can't bear to part with.

Jenn says "now, let's recap:

  1. Create an object.
  2. Set it s,c.
  3. Lock it to yourself.
  4. Describe it.
  5. Add one action per object you wish to drag around.
  6. @succ and @osucc the action.
  7. @eff action = add object you just cant bear to part with."
Jenn says "and that's how we create our backpacks."
Jenn says "And don't forget! Since backpacks are a public service, there is a quota expansion of thirty for them, as long as they are in their own owner group."
